The King Is Dead(2006-2009) was a hardcore/punk band from Torrance, California. Through various lineup changes, the band performed live from 2006 to 2009. What the band lacked in musicianship and professionalism, they made up for in goofy antics and entertaining destructive spasms taken to their own gear. The band performed mainly in the local southbay venues, rarely venturing out to the bigger cities of Southern California. One of their most notable shows included a night where the front man, David Mann, back flipped off the drums inadvertently breaking his nose and several fingers. David went to the hospital only after finishing the last song of their set. Another favored show was when the band was honored to share the stage with local legendary bands: Civilian, Gnarwhale, and Moldar. Finally, with a fatal lacking in communication and finances, the band went their separate ways officially at the very start of 2009.
